America's Most Wanted Selects New Media Mill

New Media Mill is recognized as this region's foremost authority on compression and decompression algorithms for deliverying kinetic imagery on the web.

America's Most Wanted has been tracking down the bad guys for more than 15 years. But until recently, fans had to catch the show to see the busts that made this show famous.

Now, thanks to New Media Mill, the show presents clips of its broadcast on the Internet.

New Media Mill created a software encoding solution that allows show staff to drag and drop media files into an encoder which posts the media directly to the show's servers. All this is accomplished without anyone leaving their desk.

"The challenge for us was to find the right tools to work with the formats coming out of the show's edit rooms," says New Media Mill managing partner Stew Harris. "Once we settled on the tools, the second phase of this project required us to integrate them into a drag-and-drop interface accessible from the shows Intranet."

The broadcast background of New Media Mill's staff was a plus on this job, which required equal parts video engineering and encoding expertise.
