Jesse Achtenberg

A second-generation filmmaker, Jesse Achtenberg has been with New Media Mill since the beginning of 2007. After receiving his degree in anthropology from Colorado College, he pursued his passion for environmental filmmaking as an editor, producer, and cameraman with the National Geographic Channel, where he helped create the television documentaries Master of the Arctic Ice and Surviving Paradise.
Before starting with New Media Mill, Jesse was the filmmaker-in-residence at the National Zoo, where, among other projects, he produced the installation video for the baby panda Tai Shan.
Jesse has also produced videos for many local and national non-profits and environmental groups. He brings extensive experience with a wide range of film and video formats as well as editing, graphic design, and motion graphics software.
Rasheed Willis
videographer, editor
Our resident musician, stalwart cameraman, and jack of all trades, Rasheed Wills has experience in 8, 16, and 35 mm film, DV and BetaCam as well as many types of audio equipment and techniques including field and studio mixers and recorders, field and studio sound recording, and usage of audio enhancers and editing software including experience with Pro Tools and BIAS Peak. Rasheed also has more than 5 years of video editing experience, with Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
An Nguyen-Gia
video and multimedia developer
An is a talented video producer with excellent skills in Flash and design. She came to New Media Mill from the Smithsonian Institution and the Kennedy Center. She draws on a big tool kit, including Adobe Creative Suites 3, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro. When she is not working her magic with video and web, An plays bassoon with an orchestra. She earned her film degree from University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Ashish Ghimire
computer encoding engineer
Ashish is the quiet dynamo behind a wide range of web work done at New Media Mill: from webcasting and encoding engineering, to webpage development and on-line database management. His skills include PHP programming, HTML, MySQL, Dreamweaver, and Magpie. Originally from Nepal, he came to the U.S. in 2004 and earned a Masters of Science in computer technology from Eastern Illinois University.
