Crash Lounge Has it All!
It is the hottest destination on the biggest auto safety website on the Internet. Fasten your seatbelt because this modules offers a crash course in database utility
A new database module installed by New Media Mill allows visitors to autosafety.org to mine the results of government crash test and watch as their vehicle gets smacked around in 35 mph collisions.
The module, dubbed the "Crash Lounge" has become a big hit among website visitors, many of whom watch their car tested over and over and over.
"If there is one project that brought all of New Media Mill's talents together, it would be the Crash Lounge," said interface designer Eric Seyfried. "We did just about everything -- except the actual crash tests."
The new feature, installed in 2003, got its name from the schlocky lounge music that is dubbed onto each crash test,
"Government crash tests are shot with high speed film without sound and we were worried that consumers would think there was somthing wrong with their streaming media," said producer Stew Harris. "The music lets them know their stream is just fine...and we think it reflects the friendly tone of our client's friendly web site."
