An Elegant, Easy-to-Use Conference CD

When Resources For the Future (RFF) asked us to produce a multimedia presentation on disc to capitalize on footage from a recent conference, there was one paramount requirement: speed. Not only did the client need us to turn the project around in record time, but the quality of the presentation itself was to be such that anyone could pop the disc into any PC and access the full range of the content inside within moments.

Our solution: the single-page interface.

Our tool: Macromedia Flash.

The Flash medium allows us to create create an interface that presented background information, showed a full menu of options, and displayed the video content, all within the same screen. The video plays via a player built into the disc. That means no more plug-ins or third party software.

But software alone does not a successful CD make. This single interface CD had a wide range of goals including: promoting the client's organization, presenting contextual information and still leaving room to present the video -all on the same page- making this project a milestone.

The result is a product that corresponds exactly to the client's identity and mission, maximizing the effectiveness of their message by tying it up in a neat little package.
