Gabrielle Weiss

A industrious director, camera person and film editor, Gabrielle Weiss' international experience and design skills are unique assets in a film maker.

Gabrielle Weiss is currently working on two documentaries that reflect her progressive views and strong skillset. The Color of Land chronicles lawsuits filed against the US Department of Agriculture for racial bias in lending to black farmers in the United States. The Bridge, her second piece in production, is a story about immigration trafficking from Cuba.

When she is not working on her own films, Gabrielle is a camera operator for Democracy Now! and an instructor at the Downtown Community Television Center.

She transplanted to New York City from Havana Cuba where she worked as a 16 millimeter film instructor and studied at the International School of Film and Television. Weiss is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design film and video program.
