Podcasting Workshop Resources

Greetings podcasters!

To get the most out of the workshop March 11, we ask that you bring the following items. If you cannot obtain these items, please email stew@newmediamill.com so we can make arrangements.

Hardware:
Laptop with soundcard (PC or Mac)
Earphones or earbuds to connect to your laptop
Microphones are not necessary for this class...but you are welcome to bring one if you have one.

Software:
Audacity 1.2 series (Free: PC or Mac) Please be sure to install the program and start it up before class...this tool is one of the most widely used audio editing programs available.

LameMP3 encoder. This free tool will plug into Audacity, allowing you to compress your podcasts into MP3, the most widely used audio format.

We also ask you to download and bring the following practice audio file (22mb):

Where: The Leadership Conference, 1629 K St. NW, 10th Floor

Agenda: We will spend 45 minutes learning about trends and tools in podcasting, including lessons from a podcaster who works for a national NGO. The last half of the class will be working wiht audio files and microphones.

Snacks will be served...so please come early so we can get started right at 5:30pm!
