Student Voices Brought to Education Leaders

If you really want to shake up policymakers in Washington, try telling the truth. The Alliance for Excellent Education knew who they wanted to commit truth: the students.

The Alliance for Excellent Education wanted something special for its first annual conference. So, the school policy group commissioned New Media Mill to produce five videos to set the tone at the top of five different conference sessions.

The deadline was three short weeks. Within one week, shoots at inner city schools in Philadelphia and Baltimore netted the raw material to
begin editing.

For six straight days, New Media Mill composed music, edited and scripted the the segments which focused on teen literacy.

"The Alliance for Excellent Education has benefited greatly from its relationship with New Media Mill and its talented, dedicated staff," said acting executive director Cindy Sadler.

They've opened our eyes to effective new ways to communicate our message, and their attention to detail and quality is always stellar."
