Video Created to Seek $9million Endowment

Submitted by admin on Thu, 08/27/2009 - 11:25

New Media Mill is humbled by its selection to present the values and initiatives of the most successful peace making program in the Nation: The Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University.

The video was crafted and finished in two weeks, including original music and interviews with alumni now working in the Balkans, Kenya and Ethiopia. It was crafted with a single fundraising purpose: to seek an endowment from the Sargent Shriver Peace Institute.

“In proposing that ICAR become the Sargent Shriver School for the Analysis and Resolution of Confict, we considered the life and work of Sargent Shriver, renowned for decades of service, he built national programs like the PeaceCorps and Head Start, as well as programs to eradicate poverty, racial injustice, and social inequity,” is how the ICAR newsletter explained the initiative.

While the funding proposal is pending, ICAR continues to train peacekeepers from around the world who come to Virginia to attend undergraduate classes at the Fairfax campus and graduate classes at the Clarendon campus. For more information about ICAR, please go to: http://icar.gmu.edu/
